Please note that as of January 1, 2012, Vancouver Civic Theatres require that all audience members, including children, must have a ticket. There are no exemptions to this policy regardless of the child’s age. If you bring young children to a performance, please be respectful of other patrons by encouraging them to observe proper theatre etiquette such as sitting still and not takling during the performance. If children become restless during the performance, you may be asked to take them into the lobby.

What parking choices are available near the Vancouver Playhouse?

Enter the parkade off Cambie Street. Since parking in the vicinity of Vancouver Civic Theatres is extremely limited, we do our best to restrict use of our parkade to theatre patrons on show nights. There is, however, limited parking in the parkade and it fills up early. There is no guarantee of available parking even with a ticket to a Playhouse event. Patrons with valid Disabled Decals may reserve parking, as available, by calling 604.665.2193 weekdays at least 24 hours in advance of the performance. Please have your decal number and ticket information ready. An elevator operates from both floors of the parkade to the Plaza Level on Hamilton Street. Is there seating available for individuals with accessibility needs in Vancouver Playhouse?

In the Vancouver Playhouse, there is wheelchair seating on the Orchestra level with special ‘Equal Access’ seating which provides wheelchair spaces adjacent to regular theatre seats, located in the Right Orchestra at row 15 For those who would rather not use the stairs, an elevator in the main lobby operates between the Main Lobby and the Balcony. Hearing Devices: For those requiring hearing assistance, complimentary receivers for the Sennheiser Infrared Transmission System are available at no charge at the Lobby Coat Check. Quantities are limited. A valid driver’s licence or credit card is required. Lastly, binoculars may be rented at the Main Lobby Coat Check.
